Why I Like Being a Teenager Chapter 1: Butterflies

                              

Many teens today say it sucks being a teenager, but I'm here to prove that wrong by telling you why it's awesome.

Crushes. Yes I said it and we all have had one whether it was a cartoon character or a grungy singer with horrible habits. 

At this age it's not wimpy to have a crush and want to stay far away from them so you don't make a fool of yourself. The feelings you get are very new, happy, and exciting feeling of butterflies in your stomach. Unfortunately every thing hits you hard as teen, but it teaches you to move on and find something new. There is also no need to ask them on a date or even let them know that you like them because teens should really not be dating for so many reasons. At this age it's probably the best experience you can get no material item or object can give you the same feeling as another human being. Nothing can compare to the first small feelings of love.

Reasons to be Thrifty

Hi there! So this morning I went the flea market and purchased these adorable items.

♥ A gold rose pin 
♥ A awesome roses and gold bracelet 
♥ Vintage beaded and stitched purse 
I have found some of my favorite items from thrift shops,flea markets,antique shops,and garage/yard sales If you are into being green and recycling this is perfect for you. Although you do have to go through a lot of crap and junk before you find that shiny golden nugget. Plus shopping online for vintage items can get overpriced and it's difficult to barter with them.I tend to get many complements and conversations start when I carry a vintage piece. I hope to see more girls joining in the fun of vintage recycling.

Stuffers

Part of being in Middle school is going through changes with your body ......but some people don't through these changes the same as others and that can be worrisome to some girls causing them to make themselves into being liars with their looks. As an example a few weeks ago in the girls locker room I was being accused of stuffing. Which would be unlike my character. Let's just say I didn't want to grow up as a 10 year old ,I have accepted myself now though. Anyway after this stick creature of a girl mocked me I found out she stuffs her extra padded bandeau bra with socks.( surprisingly my best friend is friends with this mean creature I always suspected it since no one is flat all over and then has a bulging bump chest right where the bra hits them) I find it interesting that she talks about that part of herself  so often even though it's nonexistent. I get it if you want more create it yourself ,but don't shove lies in others faces. And don't accuse others of your own obvious crime.

Girls are weird.

I Absolutely MUST Be In LOVE or Put to Death

   Some of you may know I am a girl scout and many of them are two or more years younger than me. These girls are very much still young girls who still have not experienced the same things that I have. For example they are still in training bras or none at all and are still losing baby teeth. I thought that would tell how far apart we are in age. Well one of them is the sister of friend of mine that I've known since 6th grade. She and the other girl scouts believe that since this friend is a boy and that he has a crush on me ,that I must be in LOVE with him. That is very much not the case he and I are only friends. Although it's not only the young girl scouts. It's other people at school who believe just because he likes me that I should like him back. Now my problem with this is these people or children never have an answer to why. When I ask "what is it about the two of us that make us supposedly perfect for each-other?" The answer I always receive back is "just cause". This disappoints me every time. To be honest I don't think anyone should be telling me on a daily basis who should love. Also I don't exactly like being told I'm married or hearing "Hey (insert name)'s girlfriend!" I feel hurt by it sometimes like my own wants or opinions don't matter. People just like funny jokes or want to add their dumb one true pairing lists.

  To end this I sometimes feel like I have zero opinion and should do what others want regardless of want I think or want. By the way I don't believe middle school students should date it's pathetic and pointless, but I'll make a post  about that another time.

The Old Lady Shoes (posted 19 days before republish)

This past school year I have had many comments on the things I wear. Most of the time they are positive because someone things something I have is cool, but there are occasions when I get not so nice comment from "people" that maybe used to be a friend and there friends. To give an example some of the negative things are.
❤ You look homeless and your backpack is disgusting. I use three different school bags to school depending on the day and how many books I am carrying. On this day in particular I had my mother's 17-19 year old leather with different earthtone patches from Mexico. I think it's adorable.

❤ "Your hair is so greasy I would dip it in my fries" (I actually think this one is silly because the person who said does not take care of her own hair very well and I washed my hair the night before this was said) 

❤Sometimes someone will tell a close friend of mine that they don't like about what I'm wearing( Might mean they are too afraid to say to my face) for example I had on some mary janes the day before I'm writing this (here's a photo) and my best friend repeated that this girl thinks my shoes are ugly and very old lady grandma( I find this ironic since an older woman in her 70s who is an avid shoe collector said "they were very cute and wishes she was younger so that she could wear them as well. Funny huh? Also the friend that repeated this that day was wearing a black dress with flowers on it and told her it was cute. Meaning this girl just doesn't like me and tries to find ways to hurt me. NO WAY IS IT GOING TO WORK.
 
Anyway enough with the insults that's for a different post on a different day. So I have been told I dress like a grandmother. I have a hard time guessing when people say this if they are being mean or just trying to give an example. Sometimes it can be a little hurtful like you are being rejected for looking this certain way, and other times a nice comment is added to the "you remind me of a grandma" thing and it's nice. These are somethings I wear that have a vintage feel or grandma feel to them.

 ❤ Lace every thing. Yes whether it's socks, details in tops ,or even undies. I will have a lace something in my outfit.  

I have these I just didn't have my own photo.  

 ❤Old Fashion shoes.  Shoes are my favorite clothing piece. The first thing I notice about a person are their shoes.

 ❤ Florals  and pastels. I try to surround myself with bright and happy things and flowers prints make me very happy so I incorporate them in my outfits. The pastels I just love and remind me of springtime and baby animals on a Easter Sunday. If that makes any sense.

To conclude this I am not crying over mean comments from people who are very anti-social and wouldn't know fashion or hygiene if it became their best friend and married them. By the way I get many nice comments( thank you to all those kind people you are very nice) on my vintage or vintage inspired things so a few sour grapes once in a while are not so bad. I just wanted to type about it. Oh and tell me whether or not being told you dress like a grandmother is mean or not?

What is the Meaning of Innocence?

So today at lunch a new friend of mine named Hannah told me I am very innocent. Many other friends and people in my class have told me this also because I tend to keep a clean language and reactions to certain things. Well she told me that her step-mother was very innocent at age 14 on her first day of High school (I am 14 and I'm in 8th grade) and a few senior guys were flirting with her one of them I guess became her boyfriend and had you know what with her and left her after two weeks of being her boyfriend. She also told me there is a good chance this will happen to me. I don't think the cause of this misfortune was innocence ,but no self control, and peer pressure . Also obviously her step-mother wasn't that innocent. This can happen to anyone dumb enough to have a senior boyfriend and let him take advantage of you, not innocence. 

Note to Self: help friends know the definition of innocence.
